Dr. Hongbin Shu visited Wuhan Institute of Virology, CAS

On December 30th, 2010, Dr Hongbin Shu, Dean of the Life Science College of Wuhan University, and the Yangtze River Scholar of Education Ministry, visited Wuhan Institute of Virology and gave a splendid lecture titled the signal transduction mechanism of cellular anti-viral response.
Dr. Hongbi Shu presented significant achievement on interferon production. Some key factors were first documented, including VISA, MITA and GsK3 β, and the results were published in immunity. The research system he constructed and his successful art of managing a research group were appreciated by the professors and students attending the lecture. The audience showed strong interest with Dr. Shu’s work and had discussion with him after the lecture.

In addition, Dr. Hongbin Shu has been awarded the National Fund of Outstanding Youth, and works as editor for many domestic and international academic journals. He had more than 70 publications of high impact journals , including Nature, Science, Cell, PNAS, Immunity, Mol. Cell. Biol, J. Cell Science, J. Biol. Chem.,J. Immunol, Molecular Cell and EMBO J, and his publications have been cited for more than 6200 times.
